Christianity

Yep. That's what gets hit at the end of the day... If you cough, it's Christianity to blame. If you don't, then Christianity didn't try hard enough. If the secularists (and non-Christianists) of this world argue one way, then the Christians argue the other. In the words of dc Talk, I'm "sick and tired of this same old fluff"! Basically, I'm beginning to discover now what I've always known. The Bible presents very few facts for life. Of the ones that ARE presented, most are taken up for study in the most-learned and eminent schools of study and then each little line is expanded into a doctrine for eternity. This doctrine is then argued against by many other 'learned' scholars who look at that particular doctrine from the point-of-view of another lil fact in the Bible. The Bible is fact. This - few can deny. However, just because it is fact, I do not believe this warrants a need to use it as a lawbook to slam down on our fellow brethren (and ...

He's back... And how!!!

Image
My bro is finally back from the UK. He got back last week, actually... And how!!! With a nice shaggy haircut (or the lack of it!) and completely clean-shaven face... And full of stories of how the service people had messed up almost everything on his trip....... Noone survived the onslaught of thecomputersam, I tell you - Dominoes Pizza UK, TGIF's UK, HSBC UK, KLM Airlines Amsterdam.... Ain't that enough? And he came back with an armload of CCM (Christian Music) CDs which rock (Mostly cos I asked him to get these! ;) ) Anyways, he's back. And he's back to occupying half the house. Feels good. Was good when he was away, is good now that he's back. I think that sums it all up. Apart from him coming back, here's what's been happening - I've not met any of ma friends over the past coupla weekends - ever since I got back from my trip to Mysore-Ooty-Madras.... Dunno why. Just never got down to it. And ma church-going is taking a back seat too. Need to get that...

Of breakfast tomatoes, love and learning

It's done people! Finally... I carted that ancient two-burner electric stove all the way from ma home in Madras to ma home in backyard Bangalore! I spent the whole evening on Sat shopping at the biggest Big Bazaar in India... And spent quite a bit in getting myself the basic essentials of a kitchen. But try as I did, I couldn't get pot-holders!!!! Whateva... I'm not complaining. Now, to all those Dan-fans out der... Please don't stone me, but the first dish that I cooked on this stove was not non-veg. It was a plain ol' tomato and egg rice thingy. (c'mon... it was late. I was hungry and tired!) But the second thing I made... Was pork gravy!!!! That was Sun for lunch. Am thinking of making that a regular Sun ritual. Sorry if this puts off any of you blog-readers out der... :D And today, I had breakfast tomatoes (lightly fried in butter) for Breakfast and made myself a country omellette for brunch. Am loving this... I just got back last Fri from a round-trip to th...

Love... And life-ing it!!!

Awesome... Simply awesome. The past coupla days have been some of the toppest ones in B'lore. I'm loving it!!! (Hence the title for this post ;) ) I've spent quite sometime with Aneka (CSI CEans would be knowing her!) and it's been really good. She came home on a morning, last week. side comment >>> That's when I realised... Having a gal over is SOOOO much different from havin a guy (Jochu!) over... The house needs sprucing up!!! Sam, ya got budget fer that???? I've met Anek's aunt (wid whom she's staying) and her aunt's kids. They're pretty cool people and quite friendly. I was at the Christmas eve lunch/party (no booze) at my cuz's place.... Met quite a few new people. Then discovered on Christmas morn that most of them attend da same church as I do - All Peoples Church!!! How cool is that??? Christmas day was really cool. I finished church with Aneka and I was jus droppin her off near her place when my TL called. He said I could t...

I Sing!

God's rockin me. Pretty hard.... And in a good way, this time around. Life's finally settling into a fast-paced, God-centred momentum.... Written two awesome songs in the past week. The Haunting was written as a follow-up to the crucifixion of Hope, while Beyond The Veil was written for the momentous occasion of Mishtu's marriage. Do check them out by clicking the 'New Songs' link to the right... Apart from this, I'm getting more involved with the All Peoples Church. Atleast, I hope to. I really don't agree with everything that is taught there... But that is the case with any church. I cannot have a perfect church. Let's see... I believe that the Lord wants me at this church for some divine purpose, and that's enough for me at the moment. I've committed to helping out with setup prior to the services... And I'm thinking of getting involved with "The Sanctuary" ministry - started by one lady-member - which is a coffee shop, library, ...

Party In The House!

Last Thursday morning (7th Dec), Jochu (Joseph V) landed in Banagalore. I brought him over from the station and took him around the city a lil bit... He was totally awed by all the labels/brands factory outlets at Marathahalli. Then I dragged him along while I enquired about some home furniture and interior decor items at three furniture & style shops ;) In his own words "Daniel, you are tempting me!" And of course, the experience has given him certain ideas of his own for entrepreneurship.......... After all that, we went and bought some veal kebabs and sheek kebabs (from across the R. Station) and added a coupla drinks (Appy! NOT anything else). Jacaba (Arun J) and Varkey (Varghese I J) joined us that evening at my place.... Jochu and me were waiting for them at the corner of my street. When those two showed up, there was such a huge scene!!! Hugs and kisses all around.... No, I mean literally. I asked the three to pipe down, but ... to no avail. We sat in my room and y...
