Ban CSK? Really? Pray, read this and then tell me why



Below is a response I posted to a commentor on Facebook, who said, "CSK team must be banned and Guru - the enthusiastic crook - jailed." and followed it up with "All these guys are frauds. But Srini is a shameless fraud". While it shouldn't be too hard to dig up the details of this enlightened human being, I personally would not mention his name here to maintain whatever level of privacy the world wide web offers. So, here we go.

Dear Mr ... 
All frauds are shameless. Having said that, let me focus on your actual point here - that CSK should be banned and 'Guru' should be jailed. 
1. It is yet to be proven in a court of law if Mr. Gurunath (forgive me for using his full name - I don't know him well enough to call him 'Guru') has broken any laws. Let him be proven guilty first, before throwing accusations on him. 
2. In the possible event that he is found guilty, banning CSK doesn't help you, me or anyone on this big, beautiful planet. It is yet to come to light the exact nature of his standing with the team - once again, this would need to be proven in a court of law. 
3. In case Mr. Gurunath is proven to be some man of position and power within the CSK official framework, AND proven to be completely guilty - even then, banning CSK does not help. Asking for something like that would mean that India would need to be banned from world sporting circles because a minister of ours broke some law by accepting a bribe, or laundering money through a deal. Do you realise how stupid this sounds? 
4. Lastly, if you were actually trying to accuse CSK of match-fixing because of the arrest of Mr. Gurunath, then you're a complete and a total idiot. You need to pull up your dictionary and see the differences between a 'bet' and 'fix'. You may use an online source to check out 'match fixing'. The two are very different. If you still insist that CSK has been fixing matches for six yeas, please let the world know how and why a team that has been throwing money everywhere to fix matches for six years would skimp out on not fixing the finals? CSK has appeared in five finals and won only twice. Also, if CSK WERE fixing all their matches, all the other teams are the ones who should be banned as they would appear to be accepting money from CSK happily to let go of their possible performing capabilities (which also means Mumbai wouldn't have won 3 out of their four matches with CSK this season). 
Before I close, I'd like to gently suggest that you find some other way to pass your time rather than make far-reaching, unneccessary flaming comments on Facebook. Get off Facebook, find a way to reduce all the illegal goings-on in the country. Pay your necessary taxes. Don't bribe the cops or the TTEs. Be the change that you want to see, Sir, assuming that it is, after all, CHANGE that you want to see.

aJCfreak. It's a simplified version of "A Jesus Freak". I flicked the concept from the dc Talk. UPDATE: A request to all who see this post: if you have Truecaller on your mobile, please store this number - 8409181059 - as FRAUD STEALING CARD INFORMATION . If enough of us store the number this way, Truecaller will pop this up when he calls other unsuspecting victims. _____________________________________ Putting this out there, so people with similar experiences can know - and people who haven't had this experience can be prepared for this - if and when it happens. Crazy Coonoor

Yeah, Coonoor is a crazy lil place for me. It's where some of my bestest friends from college, CSI CE , spent most of their weekend time while at college. It's where I've gotten to know some really cool people at Union Church. It's also where I've spent the least time, while I studied in Nilgiris. Putting all that aside, this past weekend was spent in UC, Coonoor, and it was a splendid time. It was refreshing physically, it was invigorating spirit-wise, enriching spiritually, enlightening knowledge-wise and brilliantly endearing. Yeah - a lot of adjectives. I just felt the need to jot down a few thoughts about the whole affair and where each of the Dudes4Christ dudes are in their lives right now. Smitha , my wife, darling and the love of my life, thoroughly enjoyed the time there. She was pretty much at home, mostly :) The dudes all seemed more mature than our college days, albeit they maintained their characteristic streaks that made them stand out during college.

I Hate Goodbyes

I'm totally and completely bummed. And for reasons that I never ever dreamed could make me feel this way. I have been following this tech blog called Engadget for almost 3 years now, quite avidly. I devour every post with a feverish desire for more. A year or so after I started reading Engadget, I started noticing the names of the authors. Some styles stood out, and you could easily make out who wrote those articles. The first name that really stood out for me, was Joshua Topolsky . This dude is amazing. Trip Up North - Part 1: The Train Journey

This entire Christmas season has been sortofa blur... But an amazing and an awesome one at that. So I'm gonna blog about it in parts.............. On December 22nd, my parents were to meet up with Smitha's parents at their place in Baroda . So I decided to make my way up there directly from Bangalore , while my parents were trudging up there from Chennai . I caught the train at 21.50 hrs on Saturday, the 20th of December from the main station in Bangalore, Bangalore Central. It seemed like it was going to be another one of those long, boring journeys. So I was armed with another Star Wars book ( Tyran't Test , one I hadn't yet read) and a copy of Billy Graham 's biography. The last was a Christmas present given to me at church and I was looking forward to reading it during the trip up north.
