Update

Well, it's been donkeys years since I wrote anything here. Can't say it's been cos I've been too busy. I have been busy now and then, but not so much that I couldn't have written here. ;)

In the past 14 months or so, since I last updated, these are the major events that have occurred.

1. In March, I purchased a Sony DSC-T700 digicam as a birthday + Valentine's gift for Smitha.
2. On 29th June, 2009, I was engaged to Smitha, the love of my life. This was a pretty decent week, we all went to Mahabalipuram, which is a beach-side town, and had a lovely "Engagement holiday"

3. I moved out of my bro's house, and into a really large place on November 1st.

4. The Wedding took place on 28th December, 2009, in Vadodara (Baroda), Gujarat. A few videos of the event are available:


5. The Honeymoon was brilliant, in January. Some very-short videos are available:


And what more could I say? It's been a lovely time ever since.

Also, last March, I started an attempt at writing a short story - semi-fictional. I've re-started writing it a few weeks back. It's available at Three by Two

Trip Up North - Part 1: The Train Journey

This entire Christmas season has been sortofa blur... But an amazing and an awesome one at that. So I'm gonna blog about it in parts.............. On December 22nd, my parents were to meet up with Smitha's parents at their place in Baroda . So I decided to make my way up there directly from Bangalore , while my parents were trudging up there from Chennai . I caught the train at 21.50 hrs on Saturday, the 20th of December from the main station in Bangalore, Bangalore Central. It seemed like it was going to be another one of those long, boring journeys. So I was armed with another Star Wars book ( Tyran't Test , one I hadn't yet read) and a copy of Billy Graham 's biography. Christianity

Yep. That's what gets hit at the end of the day... If you cough, it's Christianity to blame. If you don't, then Christianity didn't try hard enough. If the secularists (and non-Christianists) of this world argue one way, then the Christians argue the other. In the words of dc Talk, I'm "sick and tired of this same old fluff"! Basically, I'm beginning to discover now what I've always known. The Bible presents very few facts for life. Of the ones that ARE presented, most are taken up for study in the most-learned and eminent schools of study and then each little line is expanded into a doctrine for eternity. This doctrine is then argued against by many other 'learned' scholars who look at that particular doctrine from the point-of-view of another lil fact in the Bible. The Bible is fact. Quitting HP, moving on

Me, during my years in Bangalore (from L to R): August 2007, May 2009, August 2011 When, like me, one works in a large MNC for 5 years and 9 months, and then decides to move on, the onlookers raise questions. The first question, "Where did you get a job?", is also the most unnecessary question. I haven't got a job elsewhere. And I'm not looking. The second question, "What about money? Survival?" has a pretty unconventional answer ("unconventional" by the standards of this fast-paced, rat-raced world). It is an answer that some have scoffed at, others have considered as part of "Dan's craziness" while still others have been left stunned at hearing it. Unfortunately, AJ didn't realise what was going on, and so John's apology speech didn't get recorded. Not even a little bit. :( But, I guess that's the way it's meant to be. :)

John Schlitt's gonna be Grafting in India, this April

Hey everybody! I know it's been a while. I just wanted to update (anyone who cared) that John Schlitt , lead singer and frontman for Petra from 1986 till their retirement in 2005, has released a new album called, The Grafting . He's gonna be touring to promote the album and it has been confirmed by reliable sources that he's gonna be performing in Bangalore , India , on April 5th. I'm definitely gonna be there. Anybody else coming?! For those of you who are interested in attending, but dunno what kinda music John Schlitt would be performing, I've put together this John Schlitt montage video. Check it out. Band in the Air

Looks like the band (that has been a looooong time in coming) could become a reality pretty soon... Bina Mathew (my bosom pal from CSI CE) hooked me up with a school pal of hers - Renu Kotian, who's supposed to have this awesome, sultry voice, and who's apparently dying to sing in a rock band. A lil bit of chatting with the Kotian cleared up preliminary fears and encouraged me to meet up with her. She's like this perfect fit for the kinda band that I've had in my head. So that's one.... Now, if only we could get a guitarist, drummer, pianist.... that would be lover-ly ......... Currently, we're calling it the Band in the Air or BITA for an acronym. This is a temporary name - it could become permanent. We'll see what our Lord wants. The band's gotta be for Christ, and the ppl have to be all out for Christ. We need to focus on personal purity and communal harmony. Dedication to such things would help us go a long way. God help us and show us all how!
