Google Adsense

Yup, people! It's gone.... I used to have one of those Adsense thingies right in my blog. Removed it just now. I realised that it pointed to websites that I'd rather NOT have people visiting.... Definitely not - like sites which spread filth about the One I love. So it had to come down and it did..........

Actually, I'm not sorry that I took it down at all.

I'm totally and completely bummed. And for reasons that I never ever dreamed could make me feel this way. I have been following this tech blog called Engadget for almost 3 years now, quite avidly. Trip Up North - Part 1: The Train Journey

This entire Christmas season has been sortofa blur... But an amazing and an awesome one at that. So I'm gonna blog about it in parts.............. On December 22nd, my parents were to meet up with Smitha's parents at their place in Baroda . So I decided to make my way up there directly from Bangalore , while my parents were trudging up there from Chennai . I caught the train at 21.50 hrs on Saturday, the 20th of December from the main station in Bangalore, Bangalore Central. It seemed like it was going to be another one of those long, boring journeys. So I was armed with another Star Wars book ( Tyran't Test , one I hadn't yet read) and a copy of Billy Graham 's biography. The last was a Christmas present given to me at church and I was looking forward to reading it during the trip up north. The first question, "Where did you get a job?", is also the most unnecessary question. I haven't got a job elsewhere. And I'm not looking. The second question, "What about money? Survival?" has a pretty unconventional answer ("unconventional" by the standards of this fast-paced, rat-raced world). I'm leaving the world of advertising. It couldn't be simpler than that. But if you ask me where I'm going to next, the answer's slightly more complicated - I'm taking up two part-time roles, at my church (Ashraya) and at my old school (Anita Methodist). Doing a variety of things. This decision has taken a few months to make, and I'm super-grateful to the support of close friends and family. My wife has been supportive about the move in ways I couldn't have even dreamed of, with an inner strength and childlike faith in God's 'leading' like only she can possess. My thoughts have kept going back to my quitting HP, and how God orchestrated that . Band in the Air

Looks like the band (that has been a looooong time in coming) could become a reality pretty soon... Bina Mathew (my bosom pal from CSI CE) hooked me up with a school pal of hers - Renu Kotian, who's supposed to have this awesome, sultry voice, and who's apparently dying to sing in a rock band. A lil bit of chatting with the Kotian cleared up preliminary fears and encouraged me to meet up with her. She's like this perfect fit for the kinda band that I've had in my head. So that's one.... Now, if only we could get a guitarist, drummer, pianist.... that would be lover-ly ......... Currently, we're calling it the Band in the Air or BITA for an acronym. This is a temporary name - it could become permanent. We'll see what our Lord wants. The band's gotta be for Christ, and the ppl have to be all out for Christ. We need to focus on personal purity and communal harmony. Dedication to such things would help us go a long way. God help us and show us all how!

Ban CSK? Really? Pray, read this and then tell me why

Below is a response I posted to a commentor on Facebook, who said, "CSK team must be banned and Guru - the enthusiastic crook - jailed." and followed it up with "All these guys are frauds. But Srini is a shameless fraud". While it shouldn't be too hard to dig up the details of this enlightened human being, I personally would not mention his name here to maintain whatever level of privacy the world wide web offers. So, here we go. Dear Mr ...  All frauds are shameless. Having said that, let me focus on your actual point here - that CSK should be banned and 'Guru' should be jailed.  1. It is yet to be proven in a court of law if Mr. Gurunath (forgive me for using his full name - I don't know him well enough to call him 'Guru') has broken any laws.
