John Schlitt's The Grafting tour - Chennai, India

Hello world! I'm a very happy person right now.
We got the first tickets to the John Schlitt concert!!!
Yes, we did. It's gonna be a rocking show and I've got so many plans in ma head... But to simply know that they were still cutting out the rest of the tickets when we got ours........ AJ picked them up from the GenX Entertainment office in Chennai yesterday. He's been bugging them until they said - sure, come and take your tickets. :)

How happy are we? How happy are we? Really cool, eh?!

Anyways, as I was discussing with Josh last night - here's the checklist for the Schlitt concert:
  1. Front-row seats (350 bucks each)
  2. Arrive at the venue at 3.55 PM (gates open at 4; concert's at 7 PM)
  3. Buy a white tee
  4. Buy a permanent marker
  5. Hold up a sign saying "I made your promo video, John!" (Ha - only I can do that!)
  6. Get Daddy's big, badass semi-SLR Digi Cam - it's photos and videos galore
  7. Make sure the whole world knows where you're gonna be
  8. Get a splitting headache

I think that sums up everything. So long for now.... If John Schlitt's gonna be grafting in Chennai, then me gonna graft with him! Amen, brothers. ;-)

Trip Up North - Part 1: The Train Journey

This entire Christmas season has been sortofa blur... But an amazing and an awesome one at that. So I'm gonna blog about it in parts.............. On December 22nd, my parents were to meet up with Smitha's parents at their place in Baroda . So I decided to make my way up there directly from Bangalore , while my parents were trudging up there from Chennai . I caught the train at 21.50 hrs on Saturday, the 20th of December from the main station in Bangalore, Bangalore Central. It seemed like it was going to be another one of those long, boring journeys. So I was armed with another Star Wars book ( Tyran't Test , one I hadn't yet read) and a copy of Billy Graham 's biography. Yep. That's what gets hit at the end of the day... If you cough, it's Christianity to blame. If you don't, then Christianity didn't try hard enough. If the secularists (and non-Christianists) of this world argue one way, then the Christians argue the other. In the words of dc Talk, I'm "sick and tired of this same old fluff"! Basically, I'm beginning to discover now what I've always known. The Bible presents very few facts for life. Of the ones that ARE presented, most are taken up for study in the most-learned and eminent schools of study and then each little line is expanded into a doctrine for eternity. This doctrine is then argued against by many other 'learned' scholars who look at that particular doctrine from the point-of-view of another lil fact in the Bible. The Bible is fact. Me, during my years in Bangalore (from L to R): August 2007, May 2009, August 2011 When, like me, one works in a large MNC for 5 years and 9 months, and then decides to move on, the onlookers raise questions. The first question, "Where did you get a job?", is also the most unnecessary question. I haven't got a job elsewhere. And I'm not looking. The second question, "What about money? Survival?" has a pretty unconventional answer ("unconventional" by the standards of this fast-paced, rat-raced world). It is an answer that some have scoffed at, others have considered as part of "Dan's craziness" while still others have been left stunned at hearing it. John Schlitt's gonna be Grafting in India, this April

Hey everybody! I know it's been a while. I just wanted to update (anyone who cared) that John Schlitt , lead singer and frontman for Petra from 1986 till their retirement in 2005, has released a new album called, The Grafting . He's gonna be touring to promote the album and it has been confirmed by reliable sources that he's gonna be performing in Bangalore , India , on April 5th. I'm definitely gonna be there. Anybody else coming?! For those of you who are interested in attending, but dunno what kinda music John Schlitt would be performing, I've put together this John Schlitt montage video. Check it out. Band in the Air

Looks like the band (that has been a looooong time in coming) could become a reality pretty soon... Bina Mathew (my bosom pal from CSI CE) hooked me up with a school pal of hers - Renu Kotian, who's supposed to have this awesome, sultry voice, and who's apparently dying to sing in a rock band. A lil bit of chatting with the Kotian cleared up preliminary fears and encouraged me to meet up with her. She's like this perfect fit for the kinda band that I've had in my head. So that's one.... Now, if only we could get a guitarist, drummer, pianist.... that would be lover-ly ......... Currently, we're calling it the Band in the Air or BITA for an acronym. This is a temporary name - it could become permanent. We'll see what our Lord wants. The band's gotta be for Christ, and the ppl have to be all out for Christ. We need to focus on personal purity and communal harmony. Dedication to such things would help us go a long way. God help us and show us all how!
